Camper to Glamper Makeover – Part 1

This will be a process and an adventure. My husband, whom I love more than he will ever realize, decided it would be wiser to buy a camper to drive home (across Canada, from Alberta to NS/PEI) instead of paying for overpriced plane tickets. Buying a camper is something we toyed with for years, we really think the kids will enjoy it, and this year he found one that was perfect and perfectly priced. He has given me free reign on redecorating it. It’s a great layout 5th wheel with a queen bed in our No need to tear anything apart come bedtime each night, and us girls have somewhere to retreat to when we feel like sulking. Bonus points.

It’s a solid camper and it was beyond clean when we got it. Here are some before and during pics.

I bought fabrics to cover the dinette cushions, as well as the ‘couch’ and we are in the midst of painting walls and cupboards. I am beyond excited to see how it will turn out. It has been so much fun shopping for bargains. My goal is to complete the entire thing for less than $500 and so far, we’re coming in well under budget.

Good bones, good layout, hideous fabrics. Floor will be the last thing we replace, and possibly not until after this year’s camping season is finished. Loving the updates so far.

On to the curtains. Because of my lack of skills, I’m just winging it and cutting the slider thingy’s right off the old ones and sewing them onto the new ones.

Hubby is a good man and brought these home for me. To ‘help’ the cause. 😛

He’s in charge of painting. Thank goodness.
